1000 Books Before Kindergarten

1000 Books Before Kindergarten is for children birth through Kindergarten.

The goal is to read 1000 books to your child before he or she finishes kindergarten. If you read just one book a night, that’s 365 books in one year, 730 books in two years, and 1095 books in three years!

Reach the goals of 250, 500, 750 and 1000 books to earn rewards! Visit any of your East Baton Rouge Parish Library locations to collect these special incentives:

• 250 books – A sticker and a book bag
• 500 books – A sticker and a decal of a bear reading to his friends from Will Hillenbrand
• 750 books – A sticker and a brag tag
• 1000 books – A sticker, a certificate of completion, a copy of the book Off We Go! by Will Hillenbrand, and an invitation to a recognition party to be held annually at the Main Library at Goodwood
