The Fairwood Branch is located at the site of the old Fairwood Country Club. The land was donated in June 2008 by David Todd Waguespack and Kelly C. Sills, representing Kodiak Equipment LLC.
The library has dedicated spaces for children, teens, and adults. It houses books, A/V materials, and periodicals for all ages. Approximately 40 public computers are available for patron use, and an additional 10 laptops are available for computer training classes.
Fairwood features two AWE Early Literacy Workstations for children, as well as a drive-thru window for book drop-off and pickup.
Public meeting rooms, a quiet reading room, a storytime room, a special room for teens, and collaborative study rooms round out the facility.
Free wireless Internet access is available at this branch.
The new Fairwood Branch Library is located near the intersection of Old Hammond Highway and South Flannery Road.
