River Center Makerspace and equipment

EBRPL Makerspaces

The library currently has makerspaces at four locations and a 3D printing service at the Main Library. The makerspaces have a variety of tools and equipment to enable both creative and practical projects. This includes 3D printers, sewing machines, audio/visual gear, and much more. Click on one of the locations below to see what is available at each branch. In addition to equipment, materials, and space, the makerspaces host regular classes to help you get started.

Makerspaces are open to patrons aged 10 and up with a valid EBRPL library card. Children under 10 must be accompanied by a guardian. While some locations have open hours, reservations may be required to use the space and/or equipment.

3D Printing Service

A 3D Printer can construct a physical object from a three-dimensional computer model. With this service, you can make use of our printers to create your own design and print it out. This service is available to EBRPL patrons in good standing.

If you would like to use a 3D printer to print your model, visit one of the Makerspaces below.

Arduino Kits

Arduino is an open-source electronics platform that is great for tinkerers, hobbyists, and people wanting to gain a basic understanding of electronics. Kits include an Arduino board, breadboard, inputs and more along with an instruction manual that covers several basic projects. Arduino Kits are available for checkout at the Main Library.

East Baton Rouge Parish Library Makerspaces foster creation, collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship in our diverse and dynamic community. By providing equitable access to tools, resources, and spaces, and opportunities for creative experimentation, exploration, and education, we seek to empower our community members to make positive changes in their community, work, and lives.
